Customer Question

I borrowed a PT from a friend while my Monte Carlo was in the shop. I had the PT hood propped open and, while I was talking to a friend, automatically went to close the hood (like I do on the Monte) but didn't take the prop rod out first. It got a bit bent and jammed into its hole. Any suggestions for how to get it unstuck?
JA: What year is your Monte Carlo?
Customer: The question is about the PT cruiser, not the Monte Carlo
JA: Are you fixing your Monte Carlo yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: OK the question is about the PT cruiser
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

The prop rod is going to need to be forced out of the hole if it was forced into it. Depending on the exact state of the hood and prop rod now you may or may not be able to fully open the hood and may need to cut the prop rod to do so if you're unable to get it out the way it is now.

Is the hood in a partially closed state and the prop rod has been forced between the layers of sheet metal under the hood?
