Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

The trunk won't open electrically unless it sees the top is fully closed.

If you're seeing a failure message when trying to move the top it's because the power top control module is seeing a failure in the system and disabling to top to prevent damage. A scan tool will likely be necessary to diagnose the issue.

What was the reason for using the hydraulic pressure release?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I went to a mechanic cause the trunk did not want to close so i released the pressure valve in order to lower the trunk ..afterwards i found out that the oil was wrong and that's whats causing the issue with the trunk latch... i did a scan it sees as if everything is okay

What can i do to fix this ??
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did a scan and it does not give any error codes

There are fault codes setting if it's giving you an error message when trying to move the top. What are you using to try to read fault codes?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The fault code i get is top failure... i went and did a scan on the system with a PC i dont know what softwatr the guy is using though

Fault codes set in a module when a failure is seeing. You're seeing the top failure warning message on the instrument cluster because the power top control module is seeing a failure, setting a fault code and disabling operation. The problem could be the module itself, wiring, a mechanical failure or a microswitch issue. If no physical problems can be visually located then it's going to be imperative to know what codes are setting to begin testing.

Ok because i did a visual inspection and the only issue i see is the header latch that is not closing... do u think that i should manualy lower the top and restart the process and try agian ?

The header latch isn't going to close if there is a failure in the system, just as the top would not move under power. All operation will be suspended if the PTCM doesn't see all components in the correct state. If you can't see a damaged component or wiring issue then you need to first know what fault codes are setting and then electrical testing will most likely need to be done from there.

Ok i will try too find that and get back to you
