2006, Check engine light on. Opened hood, found unattached

Customer Question

2006, Check engine light on. Opened hood, found unattached wire end with odd looking crimped on ring terminal. (Smooth OD wit bent up tab (for slip on terminal?), toothed ID, black insulation, maybe 18 GA. What should I attach it to?
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: Stays on, no blink
JA: What is the model of your '06 Chrysler?
Customer: 2.4 L
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, trying to find place to attach terminal
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Thats it

First of all do you want to diag the check engine light or find were loose wire goes? How do you know the loose wire actually attached to something?
