The ac/heater is staying on even though i turn it off by

The ac/heater is staying on even though i turn it off by pushing the off button and it doesn't change fan speeds (just stays on high)
JA: Have you checked the coolant level? Has there been any leaking from the hoses?
Customer: No leaks from hoses and coolant level is good.
JA: What is the model/year of your Chrysler?
Customer: 97 chrysler LHS
JA: Are you fixing your LHS yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I will if I can. Nothing so far. just started doing this a few days ago. Mainly wanted insight as to what it could be, before spending alot of money or being railroaded by

Press and hold the Floor + MIX (Floor/Defrost) + Defrost buttons until the
display begins to flash.
The HVAC doors will begin to re-calibrate themselves.
After a minute or so the flashing will stop. If there are no fault codes
the system will return to the previous temperature seting, otherwise the
first fault code will be displayed. Press the Panel button to get other
fault codes.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

Depending on exactly what's happening you either have a bad control head or blower motor power module. If the control head does operate yet the blower motor can't be shut off then it's going to be a power module issue.

Is the entire control head going down, it goes to defrost and full hot?
