Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

It sounds as if you're describing the a/c control head. The control head illumination is accomplished by internal LED's permanently affixed to the circuit board. If the control head lights only partially it will need to be replaced.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are you saying the ckt board or that the Led lite can be replaced?
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 1 year ago.

Neither can be replaced. Any internal failure of the a/c control head requires it's replacement.
