My chrysler's temperature is hotter than should be but not

Customer Question

My chrysler's temperature is hotter than should be but not overheating. The temperature gauge falls a little bit below the half way mark but the hood and engine hot when the car is drive. I have a 2006 sebring touring.
JA: Have you checked the coolant? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: It seemed to be leaking antifreeze. I took it to mechanic and he put a thermostat housing on
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Well, actually i havent tried anything yet.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No, i explained to him what was going on before he put the housing on. The car never overheats but it gets hotter than it should. You could take the cap off the radiator reservoir and water would gush out.
