Customer Question

My timing belt broke on Sunday the 14th. Had it towed to a repair shop. and the guy called this morning and said I needed a new timing belt and probably a valve job. This is the second engine in this car and I know they Did Not do a valve job on the first one when it blew up. So is this just SOP or is the guy trying to hood wink me.
