The gauge shows black. Noticed a noise of air escaping while driving the interstate. Did the crossfire malfunction or is there a problem with the tire?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If there is a leak in the tire it's either because of a failure of the tire itself, the valve stem could be leaking, or the tire may have been damaged due to something hit on the road. A visual inspection will need to be done to check for damage, a nail, etc. If nothing can be seen visually then the tire can be inflated and either sprayed with a soapy water solution or put into a dunk tank to determine where the leak is. If you were able to hear the leak while driving then the damage should be obvious.
