JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: Yes, and replaced the valve controller on the intake manifold
JA: What is the model/year of your Chrysler?
Customer: 2008 Chrylser sebring convertible
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes. Had code P2004 and P2017. Replacing controller valve fixed the P2017

Hi There, I'm Clayso a certified master automobile technician with 30 years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience.

From your description most likely the Intake Manifold Assembly will have to be replaced and the PCM reflashed. Chrysler issued a service bulletin concerning the DTC P2004. The link below is the bulletin from Chrysler.

TSB 18-032-07

What happens is the intake runners get coked up and stuck from unburned fuel in the intake. Intake cleaning services won't work good enough to free up the intake runners back to their original operation. Original equipment is recommended for replacement.
