On a 98 degree day, engine @ operating temp., car would not

Customer Question

on a 98 degree day, engine @ operating temp., car would not start . Returned hrs. later, car started. It's a 99' concord.Had dealer check it, told it's never failed to start
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: battery good, engine turns over and acts like a vapor lock or flooded. Told every time key is turned to "start", more fuel is pumped.
JA: What is the model of your '98 Chrysler?
Customer: It's a 99' Chrysler Concord with the 3.? dohc engine
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just talked to Chrysler service tech, again they could not get it to not start; don't know what engine temp or air temp was when they tried, it's always started when cold
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: yes, what's the problem

did the dealer pull any codes?

generally when you have a no start with the engine cranking normally there SHOULD be a code set if NO codes set then a good tech would be looking at the fuel pump as that's the 1 thing that will cause any engine not to start intermittently and NOT set any faults
