Customer Question

We set off the alarm on our cross fire 2005 because the key fob did not work and we accidentally lifted the handle. We have tried everything to stop it and be able to start the car but nothing will work
JA: Have you checked the fob's battery?
Customer: Yes we went and purchased new batteries
JA: What is the model of your '05 Chrysler?
Customer: Crossfire
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Replacing the batteries , unlocking and locking it with the keys and putting the key in the ignition. Every time we open a door the alarm goes off
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the keyless entry functions aren't working then security isn't going to disarm before opening the doors. The unlock button on the key has to be pressed to disarm security, if a door is opened while the system is armed then the alarm will go off.

Does the fob still not work after replacing the batteries?
