Customer Question

I am having an O2 sensor problem with my 2003 gt turbo. It has been on afew years now. I had the gas cap replaced the light went off for about 3-400 miles then came back on. The car seems to run fine. i have as of today 28000 miles on it. have only run synthetic oil. any ideas/ doesn't seem to be a recall. but there are 2 of them and I'm getting this long story from the service rep about how this and that could be wrong and what an expensive fix it might be. having been a Dodge service manager in Chicago for almost 10 years I know when I'm being bamboozled. So what do you think?
JA: Have you checked the gas cap for cracks? Have you checked the fuse?
Customer: the O2 sensor has a fuse?
JA: What is the model of your '26000 Chrysler?
Customer: 2003 GT Cruiser 2.4 Turbo
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: After the emissions wouldn't test it drove to a friend of mines shop and we tried the gas cap as that has worked on pt cruisers many times in the past. It did for me also but only fo0r about a week or so.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I keep the car pretty much in perfect condition. She drives smooth with plenty of power. Clean plugs and fluids.
