yesterday morning my car would not start and today it started would that be my starter going out?

hi there,
im cam, a licenced diagnostic tech.
there is a good chance that it was the starter having a internal issue.
intermittent starting issues are usually a starter problem or a connection problem.

I would eliminate a battery connection problem by removing them and cleaning the terminals. This will eliminate any battery connection issues.
then monitor your starting over the next few days. IF you notice any different starting issues than the starter is the next thing to test.
some of the larger parts stores will test your starter and battery for free
