  1. Any warning lights on?
  2. With the IAC unplugged is the idle down to about 500 rpms?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The check engine light is on. I have not tried unplugging IAC motor yet
Expert:  Chris (aka - Moose) replied 1 year ago.

Do you know which codes are stored and can you try the IAC unplugged for me prior to your next response?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Will do. I am currently at work. I will not be able to get to it until 8 am.
Expert:  Chris (aka - Moose) replied 1 year ago.

No problem. I am here every day starting at about 3 pm central.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK now the engine lopes and won't stay running
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
When I step on the gas it gets to about 2500 rpm and then it begins to lope. If I floor it it will drop out
Expert:  Chris (aka - Moose) replied 1 year ago.

Are you flooring it in drive or park. In park or neutral the rev limiter will shut down the injectors to prevent damaging the engine. How did you come out on unplugging the IAC and checking the codes?

Thanks for asking your question and letting me try to help you.

I disconnected the battery and it dropped to 1000 rpm. When I put it in drive it will cut out.
Expert:  Chris (aka - Moose) replied 1 year ago.

When you unplug the idle air control valve what is the idle speed in park?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It wouldn't stay running
Expert:  Chris (aka - Moose) replied 1 year ago.

Can you keep it running with throttle pressure. I am trying to determine if the IAC is causing the high idle concerns.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is no high idle anymore. Yes if I step on the gas it revs up but now when I step on the gas and then it cuts back
Expert:  Chris (aka - Moose) replied 1 year ago.

With the IAC unplugged and holding just enough throttle to keep it running when you plug the IAC back in does it jump right back up to 3000 rpms and stay there like your original question?
