Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If you're losing satellite radio it could be the antenna, the antenna cable, or an internal issue in the radio. The first step in diagnosing the problem would really be to see if any antenna related codes are setting in the radio.

If the antenna circuit is broken then it will set a fault code and you should lose signal and control of the volume. It may not allow you to change channels at that time either. Is this what you're seeing happen?

Have you tried a battery disconnect?

Am I correct that the actual satellite radio unit is housed in the left rear side panel?

There isn't a separate satellite receiver, the components are the radio, antenna and antenna cable. What will need to be done is use a test antenna and cable to determine where the failure is in the cable, antenna itself or the radio.
