Hello and thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I would be happy to assist you. I can honestly say I have never heard of the altenator breaking loose from the mounting bracket. I do believe this would be covered either under a parts type warranty or powertrain. I would also look at the belt tensioner as well to see if maybe it is binding.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
there is no belt here, nor am I talking about an alternator, I need the timing mark alignment info for a 2.4 dual over head cam engine with a timing chain, guide and tensioner, it also has VVT
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't have a repair manual nor can I buy one

my apologies. go my questions mixed up. ok you said that it jumped time.? did you change the chain? I the chain jumped while the engine is running there could be a possibility of valve damage.

Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

what is the make and model?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
2007 Chrysler sebring with 2.4 dohc vvt, it still runs but poorly , with the valve cover off it looks lite it may be 2 teeth out of time on the rear cam at tdc
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

these are pictures for your timing marks, I will get you the information if you are looking to set the timing yourself.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

i'm going shopping be back in about an hour

I would also do a compression test and a leakage test to make sure there isnt any damage to the valves.

ok ,good idea
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
well it appears that it has not jumped time, could it be the fuelpump
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It isn't the timing, fuel pump, or compression.
