95 Chrysler cirrus. Sometimes car surges, sometimes cuts

Customer Question

95 Chrysler cirrus. Sometimes car surges, sometimes cuts out, sometimes cruise control light on dash turns itself on. When cruise control is turned on by me it will cut out on its own. Sometimes at highway speeds car jerks violently like transmission. Transmission rebuilt less than 500 miles ago. Conditions existed before tranny rebuild and after still exists. Im wondering should I be looking at cruise control module or what?

you would be right on the money i would say it is the cruise control module

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Is it possible to disable module and have car function "normally" without cruise control obviously. Or does this part need to be repaired/replaced
Expert:  cloe0626 replied 2 years ago.

replacing would be better but if you remove the module it will stop the problem you just wont have cruise

K I will work on replacing it and hope were right. :) not much of a mechanic and never dealt with cruise control so any advice welcome. Thanks

just pay attention when removing the steering column cover to get to the module and dont unhook anything else
