2004 chrysler concorde, replaced steering rack. steering wheel now off 1/4 turn to right. from waht i can tell, all parts can only be installed one way, "master" splines. rebuilt rack from dearborn rack and axle

You're correct, there is only one way to install the intermediate shaft to the rack, it isn't possible to install it incorrectly.

The last step of replacing the steering rack or steering gear on any vehicle is performing an alignment, that's why the steering wheel is off. An alignment will be necessary to set toe and straighten the steering wheel.
