Is there any reason that a 165 degree thermostat can't be installed in place of a 195 degree t stat. It is a 2005 Chrysler PT cruiser with a 2.4 Turbo motor and an automatic transmission?

While it doesnt happen every time a lower temp t-stat is installed, there is a possibility of setting a check engine light due to longer than normal time to reach operating temperature.
Other than that possibility, there are no negative effects of installing a lower temp t-stat
