The fuel smell could be a few things. It may be an actual fuel leak anywhere from the tank to the engine, it could be a fuel vapor leak from the evaporative emissions system, or the smell could actually be from the exhaust. If the engine is running rich then you can get a fuel smell from the exhaust.
An evap leak should turn the engine light on. Have you checked for fault codes?
Doe it have a long crank time, especially after sitting?
What fuel line specifically was replaced?
