Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
There are many things that could prevent the starter from engaging. It could be a powertrain control module related issue, the starter relay, ignition switch, transmission range sensor or wiring, or a wireless control module issue, but since the problem happened after checking fuses I'm wondering if one or more fuses either didn't get back into position at all or one or more was installed in an incorrect position.
When checking fuses were they removed from the box or where they checked visually/with a meter?
