Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
There are quite a few things that could be going on. If everything appears to power up normally but there is no noise from the engine compartment when trying to start the engine then odds are the powertrain control module is not awake. If the PCM isn't awake it could be an internal failure or a loss of power or ground to it. If the PCM isn't awake you'll also note the fuel pump doesn't run when the key is turned on and it won't communicate with a scan tool or code reader.
The problem could also be wiring, the ignition switch or lock cylinder housing, the starter relay, integrated power module, transmission range sensor, and I've also seen a handful of engine ground issues. The ground as at the left end of the transmission. Often corrosion develops between the terminal and cable and prevents the starter from engaging.
