Changed the brake booster on the PT Cruiser worked fine for a few days and right rear brake didn't release when she got to work disc was glowing red and pads smoking.

You may have a couple different things going on.
The pads could be sticking in their slides. Corrosion can build up and cause the pads to drag, although this wouldn't usually cause drag to the extent that you had.
It could be a stuck caliper piston. This would be most likely.
It could also be an internally collapsed hose on that wheel. The hose can collapse internally and hold fluid pressure on the caliper piston causing drag.
