You could have quite a few things going on.
If the pump motor continues to run but the top doesn't move then odds are you have a hydraulic fluid leak from one of the lines or cylinders.
If it doesn't move at all and especially if you're seeing a warning message in the instrument cluster then the problem is more likely to be electrical. The power top control module watches a handful of microswitches which are used to monitor the position of each component in the system. If a switch reports an incorrect state at any point then it will suspend top operation. You could have a mechanical issue or one of the switches may have failed.
If the top doesn't move at all and/or you're seeing a warning message then the first step in diagnosing the problem will be to see hat fault code are setting in the power top control module.
