Did you check your battery voltage?

If the new battery is good, then you either have a bad connection at or after the battery or further down closer to the fuse block causing your condition. Another thing would be a bad ground causing this condition.

This ticking you are hearing is just low voltage. It is either the starter or relays clicking because they have low voltage.

I would use a voltmeter and check for power on the fuses under the hood and at the starter with the key in the CRANK position.

Chances are you will find your problem.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions!
