b5demon :

The issue is the ignition key lock cylinder

b5demon :

You can try tapping on the end of the key while it is in the ignition with a small hammer that usually gets them unjammed and then it should turn

Customer:

Why did my steering wheel get locked in the upside down position ?

b5demon :

it will lock into position at certain positions when the key is turned off also try turning the wheel a little while trying to turn the key

Customer:

It happened once before a couple of years back and thats what someone did for me and it came unlocked. I got a new key made and it worked fine since till now

b5demon :

yeah it is common for this to happen what happens is the lock cylinder wear out then jam at times the only way to fix it is by replacing the lock cylinder

Customer:

Can it be towed like it is if I cant get it to unlock ?

b5demon :

yes it can be towed if you can't get it unlocked

Customer:

I imagin replacing that cylinder cost more than the car is worth.

b5demon :

it is only around $100 to get it replaced

Customer:

Id be shocked if I could find someone to do it for that . Any suggestions for someone in Little Rock Arkansas ?

b5demon :

i'm in pennsylvania so i can't help you there

Customer:

I mean like Pep Boys or something ?

b5demon :

best place to go for that would be a dealer because pep boys can not code the cylinders to match your keys

Customer:

Wouldnt a dealer be outrageous ?

b5demon :

not as bad as you think for that type of repair

Customer:

Thanks for the help. I pray the tapping on the key and jiggling the wheel work.

b5demon :

no problem always glad to help
