Just out of curiosity, how does the engine sound when it turns over? Does it sound normal or does it crank very fast?
Ask Your Own Chrysler Question
Customer reply replied 8 years ago
Sounds normal, just not firing up. Getting a light tester shortly. Sorry took so long to get back with you. Text alert doesnt do to much good if you leave your phone in the house
Chrysler Mechanic: David Dill, ASE Certified Technician replied 8 years ago
A couple of possibilities come to mind....a crank sensor and/or a camshaft sensor. The cam sensor is located on the end of the head on the driver side. The crank sensor is on the back side of the engine on the driver side. Here is a picture:

changed the cam sensor and that wasent it, we are going to try the crank sensor next.

I am coming back in reference to the Sebring we spoke about over the weekend. We have changed the cam shaft and crank shaft sensor and still nothing. We are being told the one other possibility is the ECU. Is there anything else to try before shelling out $300 for that part?
Chrysler Mechanic: David Dill, ASE Certified Technician replied 8 years ago

Now is the time to check for power and ground. You will want to verify this at the ASD relay. So you'll need a test light. Here is a picture diagram to follow

How exactly do you test the relay.
Customer reply replied 8 years ago
How exactly do you test the relay. Tried just swapping one of the fan relays into the asd location and still nothing. I am leaving to go fishing but if you can send me a reply I get it when I get back.
Chrysler Mechanic: David Dill, ASE Certified Technician replied 8 years ago
You will be testing the terminals that the relay goes into. You want to check for power and ground at the appropriate locations listed in the picture I sent previously.

I AM VERY GLAD THAT I TOOK A CHANCE ON YOUR PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS. I WAS SUCCESSFUL IN REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP. MY TRUCK RUNS LIKE A CLOCK. IT RUNS LIKE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. NO LUNGING FORWARD, THE TURBO REACTS THE SECOND I STOMP ON THE GAS, AND IT HAS A LOT MORE POWER AND EVEN SOUNDS BETTER TO ME. IT SAVED ABOUT $500.00 BY DOING THE WORK MYSELF. I GIVE YOU ALL THE CREDIT FOR YOUR DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, JUST FROM THE SYMPTONS I GAVE YOU OVER THE e MAIL. I WILL USE YOUR WEB SITE AGAIN AND REFER MY FRIENDS. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP.
