HI,

Yes, the exhaust manifold with turbo assembly comes off and most definitely use a new gasket. GM also calls for new nuts for the manifold when reinstalling.

Torque specs - 71 lb inch

Sequence -

6-2-4-8(top row)

7-3-1-5(bottom row)

Hi,

Sorry, forgot - repeat tightening once more in same sequence to same spec.

Thx. Having trouble getting the manifold off. Won't separate from the CAT. Any tips?
Chevy Mechanic: Eric, Automotive Repair Shop Manager replied 2 months ago

Hi,

Best to drop the converter completely so you are separating from the bottom straight down instead of trying to finagle the manifold out while separating it from the manifold studs and the converter at the same time
