Alan,

Gm has released a service bulletin dealing with the fault code P0521 that you are getting that deals with cleaning the baffle in the left valve cover and installing a new upgraded GM oil filter. I have enclosed the bulletin in the link below for your review as it very likely applies to the problem you are having.

Back to square one. I have done everything prescribed and after a day its the same. Oil pump?

That is possible, have you installed a manual gauge and read the actual oil pressure to see if it's dropping?

Fluctuates between 5.2 to 7.9 at idle. When driving 22

Your presssure reading are on the low side. the factory specs call for

24 psi at 1,000 engine RPM

35 psi at 2,000 engine RPM

38 psi at 3,000 engine RPM

I would suspect that you have something going on with the oil pump and or the pickup tube.

My last question is if oil pump, and I think it is, should I go with standard or high volume pump. The car has 88,000 miles always used Mobile 1

You would be fine with either one, it's your call.
