08 cobalt, no start, no power to fuel fuse. no switched power to relay

Mechanic's Assistant: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Cobalt yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes it has a new pump installed a few weeks ago pump is good pump runs when wires are jumped

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

One of the very basic things that the ECM must do is run the fuel pump when the key gets turned on. Either the ECM has failed, or it is missing one of the power or ground inputs to allow it to work.

I would check power and ground circuits to the ECM, is that something you can do if I get you the schematic?

OK, you should have power at pins 3 and 20 on X1 connector, and ground at pin 73 on the X2 connector. Both pinouts attached here for you.

OK. Bad ECM then. You have power, you have ground, you have no ECM fuel pump output. According to your testing, it needs a new ECM.

Got the ECM installed but it wont even try to start. has the car and lock symbol on the dash. I disconnected the battery and waited, then let it sit with the key in the on position then turned off and tried to start, but get nothing
