Customer reply replied 1 month ago

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
I couldn’t find any problems under the fuse box, mice didn’t really damage any wires, were else do I look for shorts in the system?
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

nowhere. i runs off of a bus that affects many others systems so if oyu have no power there you have to have 1. a bad fuse 2. a broken wire. thats it.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
if there is a broken wire say in the steering column going to the turn signal switch, is that going to effect not getting power at the fuse box?
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
is the 25amp and 15 amp fuses the only two fuses I watch for power?
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

does the high mounted stop light work?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Negative
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

do you have a trailer connector hooked up?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

have you checked any of the bulbs?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
All of my bulbs are good and yes I do have a trailer connection, it was on from factory
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
If I had a bulb situation it would be just that one light not all three of them
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

you'd be surprised how many times a 3 brake lights go ut at the same time

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

anyways it really doesnt matter since you have no power at those fuses. you have an open wire somewhere.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
I have power down at the brake switch on the foot petal I just discovered this
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

then you have power at the 25 amp fuse

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

take the connector off the brake switch and put a jumper between the orange and white wire

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

then see if you have brake lights

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Okay
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Do I need to hook the rest of the wires back into that switch?
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

no

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
That didn’t work then
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
I did white to green and that made the brakes work all the time then
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

please just jumper orange to white then check for power at those 2 fuses

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Still was no power at the fuses
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
since the jumper wire from white to orange didn’t make the fuses work I need to trace the orange wire all the way to the box because that would mean it’s the one cause problems right? We checked the brake switch by continuity and the brake switch does work
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
that wiring harness does stay inside the firewall correct
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

yes, you need to trace the white wire

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 month ago

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
