Customer Question
lowered my 2000 chevy s10...
I was changing front brake pads and rotors and once I lowered my 2000 chevy s10 back down off the jack, the factory alarm started going off. I want to disable it because I obviously can't drive it. I didn't even know I had an alarm till now since it never went off before. I have tried putting the key in the driver door and locking and unlocking it but no change, I also tried disconnecting the battery but still nothing, I also touched battery terminal cables together for 60 sec then waited 30 min reattached battery unlocked truck and started it but the alarm went on again right when I connected the negative cable Please this is probably driving my neighbors insane

I cut them which is better cuz I don't have to hear the stupid siren but there is still a clicking noise and lights still blink and radio lights blink as well any idea what is causing it? like I said this has never happened and as soon as I lowered the truck it off the jack it started , is there a fuse or something I can reset ?
Chevy Mechanic: Gary, Chevy Technician replied 1 month ago

under the drivers side dash panel you usually will find an aftermarket black box added to the electrical system unplug that box should stop that from happening
