69000. have replaced front brakes and new brake lines. new brake lines helped for a while

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Canyon yourself? What have you tried so far?

Replaced front pads first but didn't help. some body told to replace front brake lines so I did. that fixed the problem for a while but started again latter

Hello there, I am Cam.

I am Licensed technician at a GM dealership with more than 16 years experience.
Like you, I am a user of this website and as such, any billing questions should be sent to customer service.

I ask that you please provide details and communicate with me so we can make your experience here worth 5 stars! I am around most days but not every minute of every day. If you reply while I am offline, I will respond when I am next online.

I have a question about your bake fluid, is it contaminated? Discoloured?

Did it happen to get some other fluid in it at one time by mistake?

same brake fluid that came in it. it is a little dark

Ok, considering you had this issue before and changed the hoses, and it fixed it, I am wondering if its not the hoses but debris in the system.
What I suggest is a full flush.

First suck out the brake fluid in the master cylinder.

Then fill it with new fluid and start bleeding the brakes. you can do a gravity bleed by leaving the master cylinder open and full, then open the bleeders one at a time. Allow the fluid to flow out, starting left rear, right rear, right front then left front.
Allow fluid to run out until its new at each one. Keep the master cylinder full.
Then perform an ABS brake, so find a place where its slippery and perform several braking maneuvers that will engage the ABS.

Perform the bleed procedure again. This should clean out the ABS system and flush fluid. THe fluid must be DOT 3 fluid and nothing else. If any oil gets in there, the entire brake system will need to be replace.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question

A couple it tips, use a turkey baster to suck the master cylinder out.
Don't get any brake fluid on any surface, it will strip paint.

If you do, wash quickly with water and lots of it. Brake fluid is water soluble which is why oils will damage the brake system.
