I have a 2010 Chevy equinox with the 2.4l. While I’m driving and light comes on that says service stability track and then it says engine power reduced if I stop turn the car off for a minute and restarted it will be fine but then shortly after that warning light comes on again what is wrong and how do I fix it

Hi, my name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist with this today.In some cases, I may need more info to assist better.I apologize for any delay.

This indicates that the stability computer as well as engine computer has detected a fault with one of the engine or stability components.This will turn on both warnings you see here as well as can cause reduced power.Usually cycling the key off and on will reset the fault until the fault has been detected again.This can be a fault with the throttle position sensor needing to be replaced or an issue with the throttle body itself among several other components.These are usually most common.

What has to be done from here though is to have the fault codes read out/checked using a fully compatible scan tool or computer plugged into your model vehicle that can read all computers in your vehicle.Once this is done any codes set then need to be diagnosed to then locate and repair this issue here.Most shops or a dealer can read out the fault codes as well as diagnose and repair the issue for a fee.A local parts store can usually read out the codes at no charge to you and can give you an idea of what is at fault needing replaced.
