Does the noise appear to be coming from inside the shaft or the slip yoke?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 6 months ago
Inside there is no slip yoke. One piece aluminum with original gm date on it.
Chevy Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 6 months ago

If you remove the shaft and roll it around do you hear the noise?

How are these things made?
Chevy Mechanic: Ron, ASE Certified Technician replied 6 months ago

They should be a hollow tube with nothing inside of them to break loose and rattle.
