when you jump the truck you are providing power to the truck needed to make it run. when the cables are removed you need the alternator to continue to handle the loads to keep the truck alive. in your case it sounds like the alternator is not working. you have a volt gauge on the dash. was it reading low before this happened??

when you jump it again. see if the gauge is working and showing in the range of 14 volts

you cannot tell if an alternator is good with a dead battery. you need to charge or replace the battery and then check the charging system.

got the pictures. looks like there was universal battery cable used and thats why the one wire with no home.

connections look dirty especially the last picture. they all need to be cleaned up.

I would still start with a new battery

I dont see a red wire disconnected. the red block with the wires attached look like it goes back to the battery

that wire with the connector is a ground wire.

maybe but I doubt it.

the first thing you need to do is replace the battery. then the charging system needs to be checked the correct way

none of the batteries were brand new but there was 3 or 4 different ones tried
