I have an electrical issue. The truck turns over, but has no fuel delivery nor spark.

Mechanic's Assistant: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?

Imreplaced the ecm and it ran rich for a week. Now it’s not getting the gas or spark.

Yes.

Fuel pump relays, ECM, fuel switching module. Pretty much anything electronic.

If you are not getting fuel do you mean no fuel pressure or no injector pulse

You either have a problem with the pickup coil in the distributor or ignition module if you don't have spark as well

I just swapped the ignition module, it did start, and idles well. But runs like crap when driven. Most of these parts are less than 3 years ol

yes i would try that but sometimes the magnet on the distributor shaft that trigger the pickup coil gets weak over time.....especially with something this old

That makes sense to me. I’m just weary of chasing ghosts. I’ve built a few V8 motors. I’m just at a loss when it comes to control systems. I’ll pop a distributor in tomorrow. Thanks.

Like I said, I’ll swap the distributor tomorrow. I found a new oem for $116. I’m into the part swapping about $500. Still cheaper than a shop. Thanks.

Got one, swapped it in 45 min. Same issue. Limped it to my mechanic. They’ve got a guy that cut his teeth on this era Chevy issues. Corvette and trucks.
I’m done. I can mechanic, but computer shit makes me buggy.

Yea, but when it warms up it’s like the plug wires are crossed. It idles fine until it gets warm. Yes the distributor is in right. It runs like yesterday.

You had said it had bo injector pulse. If that was truly the case it wouldn't run at all. Thats why i suggested the distributor and you jad already tried an ignition module
