Customer Question
2010 Duramax not starting...

2010 Duramax not starting. Checked both batteries and one was bad. Replaced and truck started right up and drove it home. This morning, tried to start it and it only clicked a few times then went completely dead. Took off alternator and had it checked and it was still good. Put it back on. Turned key on and had some juice from battery but as soon as I turned the key to crank it, no juice at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mechanic's Assistant: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?

Yes I have changed one. Had both batteries tested while on the truck at parts store.

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model of your '10 Chevy?

LLY Duramax

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?

Replaced one bad battery. Other battery good. Removed and tested alternator at parts store. Was good. Put all back together.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

That's it for now

Hello, David. When I started having trouble it was reading 16 volts. After I changed the one battery, I noticed it was reading about 13.
