Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
I BELIEVE IT SAYS RESET
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

With all the readings you have given me, there should be atleast 4 codes set. With the fact the codes are not being set, I would have to say the pcm is faulty.

OK UNPLUGED TPS AND IAC NO CODES LOL WOW
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

Do you have the old pcm still?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
NO
GUESS YOU WENT TO SLEEP
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

Nope, I am still with you. If you can not manually trigger a code, the pcm has to be bad.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
IT SHOULD SET A CODE AS SOON AS I UN PLUGED TPS??
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

Yes. It should have seen there was no voltage back to the pcm and set a tps code.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
I UNPLUGED WHILE IT WAS RUNNING
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
TPS AND IAC HAD TO REMOVE AIR BOX TO GET TO THEM
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

I believe that the pcm is running off of open loop settings and that is why you are running rich, and no codes are being set.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

But even if it was stuck in open loop it still should have set a code for the tps.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
SHOW IT GOING TO CLOSE LOOP
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

But it is not regulating the system like it should in closed loop. There has to be a driver fault in the pcm itself.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
IF I UNPLUG A VAC LINE THE NEG READING COME BACK CLOSER TO NORMAL
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

That is because the pcm is running off of a base setting and not changing the rate the injectors pulse and apply fuel or take fuel away.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
I HAVE NOT BUT NEW O2 IN JUST USED ONE I DONT THINK I GOT 4 UPSTREAM BAD ONE
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 7 months ago

I do not think this is a sensor problem, it is an internal fault in the pcm itself.

I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT WITH THAT COMPUTER FOR 5 YEARS
Chevy Mechanic: kalamykid, Shop Owner/ Tech replied 6 months ago

I have seen pcm's loose there programming. I do not think it is a good idea to reprogram your, as it will just loose it again. You really need to replace the pcm.
