Hi, My name is Jay

Is the front and rear calipers locking up on you? Or just front?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
All
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
All of the brakes are new
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

If you raise at least one front and rear tires can you turn the wheels by hand? If not then try to crack loose each line at master cylinder and then check to see if brakes release?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
they released
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

Then you need to first check brake pedal is not being held down part way by linkage or brake switch and causing the push rod on brake booster to push on the brake master cylinder piston. Sometimes the brake switch needs replaced or checked for binding. .

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
No that part is good it doesn't bind
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

See if pedal is coming back all the way to the stop when released. If all this is good then you will need to check booster pin where it contacts the master cylinder and adjust it shorter so it does not keep brakes engaged.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
It brakes after about ten minutes of driving. Then i automated bleed the abs and it will let them go
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago
If you can open brake lines at master cylinder and it releases brake then master cylinder is partly pressed and will not release all the pressure to brakes.
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago
Or the residual check valve is defective in the master cylinder. you can check this when brakes are locked and you loosen nuts to hold master to booster and if releases brakes then you know it is a good president residual valve and caused by booster or pedal problem holding in piston on master cylinder.
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
I did that allready no fluid comes out intill you push on the pedal
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago
You may not see any fluid come out but does it release brakes?
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
No
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
No only when i release the bleeder screw or let it sit for about twenty minutes
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago
Where do you open a line then to get brakes to release????
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago
If only does it at caliper and not master then you have bad rubber brake lines. They trap fluid pressure when bad.
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
Bleeder screw
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
Both new
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago
Then flex hoses are bad
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
New to
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago
You changed hoses then did you try to release them at master? Is only releases at caliper and not before brake lines then the lines are defective. Try to loosen metal liner just before hoses and not at caliper to see if releases?
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
They release on both ends
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

Then the problem is in calipers

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

Check caliper slides are free and lubricated with caliper grease.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
they are new
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

I have seen new calipers and slides bind when remanufactured (New). If you cannot open bleeder and push back piston and then see if caliper slides freely.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
Slide good on all four
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

Do the pistons push back easily?

Didn't work. It says calibrate to tires but it wont let me it says out of range
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

What didn't work?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
The changing of the abs
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

What part of the ABS? The sensor or the ABS module?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
It comes together.so far three times
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

Please confirm? You open bleeder at the caliper and it releases brake? If you break loose metal line at the connection to rubber line does not release brake? Is this correct?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
Every Time I. Open rhe bleeder screw or any lines it will release
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

Okay. Work your way back toward the master cylinder until you get to the last connection that releases the pressure and that will be the problem component.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
I did alll that already and they all release the calipers
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
The break system is new and been replaced twice
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
Except the booster but it works fine. Has space. And dose not interfere with the master
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
If you turn it on for fifteen minutes. They automatically lock without driving it
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 8 months ago

What was last component that released pressure? The master cylinder is staying engaged like I said at 2:30 today? I still suspect booster or brake pedal linkage like I said at 2:30 today. I am opting out since I have no other ideas. Please do not respond until another expert contacts you.

I have not got a response from the last answers I sent you. Do you still need assistance?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
I replace the hole break system. Calipers dont lock anymore but when i break it pulls left and right
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 7 months ago

This can be alignment of the front end if the brakes pull one way and then the other way the next time. So the brakes do not lock up any more?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 7 months ago

Have you checked the sway bar and lower control arm bushings for wear? This can cause the pull when braking. Do you have any other questions for me pertaining to the brakes locking up?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
No just the front calipers pulls to the left . After i bled them it started pulling to the right
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
Every time I bleed them it pulls one way or the other
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 7 months ago
Still sounds like the system has sir trapped inside it. Your best bet I to have a shop bleed the system using a pressure type bleeder. It will push out any trapped air you have.
Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 7 months ago
Meant to say remove trapped air in system using pressure bleeder.

For sale tomorrow
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 7 months ago

I can only think that the system has an imbalance within the brake proportional valve. Are you serious about selling it tomorrow?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 7 months ago

Did you put the ABS in bleed function to purge air from it?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Jaybird61, ASE Certified Master Technician replied 7 months ago

I am out of any other ideas for this one unless you have a defective part. I know you already have changed every component on this vehicle and without further abs testing and pressure testing the system to isolate cause of unequal pressures to wheels.
