okay:
1. Engine has recently found new home in my Jeep Wrangler.
2. SCFI replaced with new MPFI Spider from Delco.
3. Custom headers from Adavanced Adapters to fit Wrangler
4. Custom Engine harness from Howell & matching ECU unlock, but no performance mods to ECU (yet)
5. Engine has been running great in the Wrangler for 3 months
6. Slight coolant leak last week, about 1/2 gallon low before I topped it off
7. Temp never exceeded 210
8. Coolant pretty green color now oil transfer
9. Oil color good no coolant transfer
10. Runs good when engine colder, or at idle above 170 degrees
11. stutters and sputters as RPM's go up after engine reaches 170 degrees

Thanx for that info, what I would have you do first to eliminate any guess work is to do a block test. I will give you a video on how to do this and what to use in doing it.

My 2002 Tahoe has a rough idle. At cold start. Here's a
Tahoe super rich rough idle for about 1 minute. 2002 Tahoe 5.3 engine, non flex fuel. cable throttle. 165k miles. Cold start about 60 degrees ambient, starts fine to quick high idle as it should but then drops to normal idle, runs very rough for about a minute. Drives fine after that. Yesterday also ran rough on a hot start and stalled. No codes active or pending. Scan tool shows -10% short term fuel trim at idle. Raise RPM to 1000 and fuel trims look closer to zero and loping stops. Scan tool also shows engine temp very close to ambient temp. Had a complete tune up about 5000 miles and one year ago including all 4 oxygen sensors, new MAF, plugs, wires, fuel pump and filter. Also new intake gaskets. Fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose has no gas in it. Removing hose from regulator does not change engine speed and there is vacuum at hose. Any thoughts appreciated. … read more
