Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

Are any aftermarket accessories installed such as remote start or alarm?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Remote start yes
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

Disconnect the remote start and let me know if that helps, it is common for aftermarket accessories to cause this code. Keep me updated, thanks.

Wow that's what I always say at the shop and what do you know it was it
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

Good to hear, I'm happy to hear that took care of problems. Ignition circuits are pretty touchy on newer vehicles, thanks for update.

Oh boy just shut off now have codes P1516,P1682, and P2101
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

The two new codes usually mean the throttle body assembly has failed, have you ever gotten these codes before?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
No
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

Reset them again to see if they come back. If so, clean ground 104 and if that doesn't help do a visual inspection of wiring/connector and replace throttle body. Ground is located On the left front corner of the engine. Keep me updated, thanks.

Ok so back to code P1682 only and won't stay running
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

At the Black ECM connector, check for ignition power at pin 19 (Pink wire) and pin 47 (Pink/Black wire) with the ignition on, and no voltage there with the ignition off. Let me know, thanks.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Ok pin 19 pink has 12v and 47 pin pink/black has only .82v with ignition on and no volts with ignition off
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Also the dash says engine power is reduced
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

Pink/back get power from the ECM/Throt fuse under the hood. Check to see if fuse is good, if so check to see if fuse has power, if not replace the ECM/PCM relay. Let me know, thanks.

Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Ok relay was bad replace now have 12v on the pink/black and still P1682 code crank no start also dash still reading engine power reduced
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

I'm assuming you have tried to erase codes?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
but after every startup or crank it still has code P1682 every time
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

Test voltage on the following fuses with the Key On Engine Off (KOEO): IGNE, ECM1, IGN0, ENG1. Let me know, thanks.

I checked fuses 4 egn 15A .54v, 5 ecm/throt 15A has .61v, 12 ecm batt 10A 12v, 56 ecm-ign 15A has 12v, 19 trans ign1 15A 12v,
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

The ECM throt seems to be acting up again. Check to see if pin 87 of ECM relay has 12v, if so jump pin 87 to pin 30 and see if that sends 12v to fuse. If not fuse box needs to be replaced.

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
Ok jumped 87 to 30 got 12V at the fuse truck started and ran no problem
Tested the relay intermittently fails
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

You have already replaced the relay?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Chevy Mechanic: Dan, Technician replied 10 months ago

The PCM activates relay via yellow wire at pin 59 of PCM connector. These vehicle have a lot of problems with corrosion on PCM connectors so I'd start by cleaning PCM connector.
