2003 anniversary Corvette tilt steering wheel stuck in up…

Customer Question
2003 anniversary Corvette tilt...

2003 anniversary Corvette tilt steering wheel stuck in up position. any instructions/illustrations parts numbers, etc. for a fix

Mechanic's Assistant: Is the steering wheel actually locked? Does it feel slightly springy when you try to turn it in one direction, but has no give when you go the opposite way?

Steering is not inhibited

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Corvette yourself? What have you tried so far?

I will do the repairs myself if it's not too intricate

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Do you have an estimate for repair using a chevy dealer

This most likely means the telecopic switch or motor has failed. At motor check for power/ground on each wire when pushing switch in different directions. If power/ground is good then reverses when reversing switch replace motor. If it doesn't get power/ground then next step is to verify switch has good ground on black wire, with switch pushed one way pink should have ground, and when pushed the other way orange wire should have good ground. If black wire has good ground but other wires aren't getting ground when pressing switch then switch needs to be replaced. If both are good next step is checking resistance between switch and seat control module to test wiring. Here are replacement instructions for switch and motor, also wiring diagram to help with testing. Let me know if you have questions. THanks.
