Ok that worked. Give me a few minutes to look over the wiring and I will get back to you shortly. Do you have a volt meter or test light to do some testing?

Ask Your Own Chevy Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
both
Chevy Mechanic: Ivan Alvarez,

You will need to access the headlight switch plug. Look for a tan wire. This will be the low beam voltage. With the switch on the low beam voltage should be present on this wire. Let me know what you find and we can go from there.

voltage present but what is the orange wire? the insulation apeers to be melted
Chevy Mechanic: Ivan Alvarez,
 replied 10 months ago

Most likely the supply voltage. let me see if I can confirm that. Next your volt meter should be able to test for continuity. Test the tan wire from the switch and to either one of the head lights. The wire is the same color up to the headlight. You most likely have an open on the tan wire.

Orange is for the park lamps.

Another way to confirm an open wire is the issue is to jump voltage from the switch tan wire to the headlight plug and see if it lights up.
