Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Avalanche 1500 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Havent started. Oil leak rear engine lower, motor oil serious leak, considering oil pan and or valve cover gaskets???

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you ever replaced the gaskets? Maybe the hoses?

Donnie sorry is name. 295k miles never had any oil leak repair problems

thats where i would start...have the motor degreased and add oil tracer dye... the dye will leake a stain from the source a uv light and glasses will pick up

Are there other rear engine areas that can cause these oil leaks? Other than valve covers and or oil pan gaskets?

frear main crankshaft seal is more common of a failure then the oil pan
