Customer Question
I have a chevy...

I have a chevy s10 truck and the number 6,3, and 1 cylinders are not firing. I changed the rotor button and cap and I put another distributor in it and the problem has not been solved could it be the ignition control module. Does it control the firing to the cylinders

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the battery lately?

Yes

Mechanic's Assistant: What year is your S10?

1999

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your S10 yourself? What have you tried so far?

I just put an engine in it and the old engine wasn't doing that just had blown heads

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

I also put new plugs and wires

Have you checked for spark fuel and compression on the cylinders that are misfiring? Is the camshaft timing set up correctly? If the new engines camshaft from a different year with a possible different firing order?
