Have a 98 Chevy Tracker. we replaced the head gasket and

Customer Question

have a 98 Chevy Tracker.
JA: Are you fixing your 98 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: we replaced the head gasket and reassembled it . I have placed the #1 cylinder on top dead center with the valve cover off to be sure that it was TDC insured that the rotor was in the correct position and that the firing order is correct. There is spark to the plugs yet it still wont start. It will however give a belch out of the intake
JA: Is this your first time dealing with this issue? What size is your engine?
Customer: Yes I have not run across this situation before. Its a 1.6L 16valve
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no I think that about covers it
