REPLACED CV AXLE TOOK IT TO HAVE TIRES PUT ON AND SHORTLY AFTER THE AXLE SEPARATED FROM THE TRANNY, NOW CAN NOT REMOVE THE AXLE FROM THE TRANNY
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2008 IMPALA
JA: Are you fixing your Impala yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I TRIED THE PRY BAR METHOD AS I DID WHEN I REPLACED THE DAMAGED ONE
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: IT WAS MAKING A LOUD SORT OF GRINDING NOISE
JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: IT STARTED SHORTLY AFTER I HAD TIRES PUT ON, IT IS COMING FROM THE AXLE.

Hi. The axle shaft must be jammed up in the transmission. IF prying is not working, then you are going to need to use a hammer and punch, or your pry bar, and try to hammer it out and hope the transmission splines are ok.

if the tranny splines are damaged , what next ?

The transmission would have to be torn down and the parts replaced or a new trans installed. I would think the splines will be ok in the trans but you may need another axle. Just have to get it out and see whats going on.
