Where did you get the new fuel pump and what brand was it?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
delphi brand from napa.
Expert:  kalamykid replied 9 months ago.

The first thing you should do will be to look under the truck on the drivers side and find the two rubber fuel lines between the transmission and drivers side of the frame. Find the line that comes from the fuel filter and with a pair of vise grips lightly pinch of the other rubber line to restrict the return line back to the tank and see if the fuel pressure comes up any.

ok i assume your attempting to override the presure regulator?
Expert:  kalamykid replied 9 months ago.

Correct. If the pressure does not come up, then the fuel pump is not creating enough pressure.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
ok whre is the pressure regulator located?
Expert:  kalamykid replied 9 months ago.

If the pressure does come up, then you will have to pull the upper intake off and replace the pressure regulator. When you pinch off the return line, do not put to much pressure on it or you can damage the line.

Expert:  kalamykid replied 9 months ago.

The regulator is mounted to the back of the fuel injector spider.

ok thank you for your help. Like i said on the initial check is was running 20 psi at prime so thats why we went to the filter and pump first. that brought the psi up to 30 but still will not start. Does have good spark.
Expert:  kalamykid replied 9 months ago.

You have to have atleast 50 psi for this system to inject enough gas into engine for it to run.

Expert:  kalamykid replied 9 months ago.

But the pressure should be between 55 and 65 psi.
