Hello. I was told I have a blown head gasket. The mechanic told me that the labor would be 14 hours and I should just pay to get a new motor. What are your thoughts ?

The labor he quoted looks correct.

Alot depends on how many miles you have on the car? Also what kind of shape the car is in?

To find a engine will low miles from a scrap yard maybe hard. Unless you looking for a rebuilt engine?

This is a solid engine not much goes wrong with them. Other than head gaskets.
